Advanced Asymmetric Filter Bank Based ADC for Software Defined Radio Applications Utilizing Frequency-Response Masking (FRM) Approach

چکیده

-This paper introduces two-channel FIR filter bank based analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for software-defined radio (SDR) applications. The synthesis filter bank is synthesized using frequency-response masking (FRM) approach. In FRM, the structure is composed of a model filter, its complementary filter, and two masking filters. The FRM was introduced as the means of generating narrow transition band linear-phase FIR filters with a low arithmetic complexity, but at the expense of a somewhat increased overall filter bank (FB) delay in applications demanding narrow transition bands. Mathematical analysis of designing CT HFB is given and a design example using the frequency-response masking is included to illustrate the efficiency of the FRM over the conventional technique.
